Physicians and Staff
The Midwest Sinus Center is a professional corporation of medical doctors (M.D.'s) who are trained in the surgical sub-specialty of Otolaryngology.

    William R. Panje, M.D., F.A.C.S. completed his premedical education at Iowa Wesleyan College in 1965. He went on to earn his medical degree and two Masters degrees at the University of Iowa by 1977. Dr. Panje completed his surgical internship, residency and post-graduate fellowship at the University of Iowa. Dr. Panje is double board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is presently the Director of the Head and Neck and Skull Base Surgery program at Rush Medical College where he also holds a full professorship. Dr. Panje has been on staff at Rush since 1992 and is a past president of the American Rhinologic Society.

    Neal M. Lofchy, M.D., F.R.C.S.C. completed his premedical education at the University of Western Ontario and the Universtiy of British Columbia and earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1986. Dr. Lofchy completed a year of Plastic Surgery Research at St. Michael's Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto before his General Surgery residency training at the University of California Los Angeles. He then completed his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto followed by a fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery under the direction of Dr. Robert Bumsted at Rush Medical College in 1994. Dr. Lofchy is board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in both Canada and the United States and is a fellow of the American Rhinologic Society. He has been on staff at Rush since 1995 where he is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology.

    Jay M.Dutton, M.D., F.A.C.S. completed his premedical education at Indiana University in 1990 and earned his medical degree from University of Iowa in 1994. Dr. Dutton completed his surgical internship at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa in 1999. He then completed a post-graduate fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery under the direction of Dr. Robert Bumsted and Dr. William Panje at Rush Medical College in 2000. He is board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Rhinologic Society and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, among other organizations. He is Chief of the Divisions of Rhinology/Sinus Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center.

    Joseph P.Allegretti, M.D. completed his medical education at the University of Illinois - Urbana in 1986 and his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1990. Dr. Allegretti completed his surgical internship and residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis in 1995. He has completed three years of post-graduate fellowship training in Laryngoscopy, Head and Neck, Skull base, Facial Plastic, Reconstructive, Rhinologic and Sinus Surgery at both Rush Medical College and the University of Tennessee - Menphis. He is board certified in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.and Neck Surgery.

    Samuel Bailey, M.D. completed his premedical education in 1999 at the University of Kansas, graduating summa cum laude. In 2003, he obtained his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He recently finished his Otolaryngology residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is now completing a fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery under the direction of Dr. Jay Dutton, which will be concluded in 2009.
